Meghan and Adam’s Engagement Session at Japan Village
Meghan + Adam’s Engagement Session at Japan Village
A Brooklyn shoot with big Tokyo vibes
When Meghan and Adam told me they were obsessed with Japan—like, Studio Ghibli marathons, sushi nights, and someday-we’re-going-to-Kyoto obsessed—I knew exactly where we needed to shoot their engagement session: Japan Village in Industry City, Brooklyn.
It’s the closest thing to stepping into a Tokyo market without leaving NYC. And for these two, it felt like a perfect fit.
Low-key, personal, and seriously fun
We started in Japan Village’s food hall, surrounded by glowing lanterns, wood paneling, and shelves stacked with mochi. Meghan wore a soft linen dress, Adam kept it classic, and they just fit in the space. Nothing felt forced—it was basically a casual date with a camera third-wheeling.
They grabbed matcha lattes, wandered past ramen stalls, and cracked each other up the whole time. Super chill. Super them.
A quick scene change
After soaking up all the cozy vibes indoors, we stepped outside into Industry City for something more bold—industrial textures, murals, string lights, and wide open spaces. It added just the right contrast to the warmth inside. Still very Brooklyn, but with a fun, colorful twist.
Why Japan Village worked so well
This wasn’t just about aesthetics (though the place is a dream to shoot in). Japan Village made sense because it’s part of Meghan and Adam’s story. They’re into Japanese food, design, culture—you name it. Shooting there wasn’t just cool visually—it actually meant something to them.
And that’s the sweet spot. When your session looks good and feels like you, it hits different.
